Cap moves through the installation quickly. The prison is built in a similar style to the Vault, with more dangerous prisoners kept underground, where it is more difficult to break out.

This young man "Patriot" is fast, but he's not going to lose Captain America.

He descends into the Cube, chasing after this young hero dressed in the flag that Steve himself so cherishes. He's surprised at the lack of support he's found so far... there have been no SHIELD agents yet. Are they outside, helping with the fight? Or was the power loss more dangerous than he first expected?

He puts those thoughts out of his mind as he finally comes around a corner to find Patriot standing by a door, unsure if he should enter or keep running.

That's when Captain America approaches him from behind to place a very firm hand on his shoulder.

"That's far enough, son."

"No." He replies sharply. "It isn't." He twists out of the grip and turns to face the man. "And I don't have time to fight you. Just come with me."

"This has gone far enough." His eyes narrow. "I've heard you're being mind-controlled. I don't know I buy that." He crosses his arms. "I'll give you one chance to explain yourself. If you can't... you surrender, and we stop all this senseless battle."

Quietly, a SHIELD sniper, finally alerted to Patriot's location, moves into position, takes aim... and fires.

"Look o -" Eli doesn't get to finish, nor does the agent get a direct shot. Patriot flips out of the way, only to slip on a pool of blood and fly backwards down a side door. Captain America will find him sprawled out near a gurney with a far more sickening sight.

Cap reacts instantly, throwing his shield down the hall to knock the agent in the face, knocking him out, only to ricochet back to his hand.

But as he turns back to see Patriot, his heart falls.

There, before him, is a grotesque sight. There are children strapped to tables and gurneys, in various states of life. Jars with unusual body parts fill the walls -- some are easily recognizable, and some are not (and may well be unique). Here, a green-haired girl with her eyes missing. There, a green scaled boy missing an arm and leg. A dead teenage boy, his torso spread out for an autopsy... but he sees finger-claw-marks in the table, indicating that the boy had been alive when the autopsy began.

A pile of five more bodies, stacked like cordwood, are in the corner.

Cap stares, shocked, for a moment... before he's immediately at Patriot's side to check to see his status.

"P... P... Patriot?" He asked, tears starting to come to his eyes, "Eli? Is that you?" He knew it was, he saw him, he just wanted it confirmed.

"Can you please get us out of here?" The tears were just streaming now, he finally let himself break to all the torture that he's recieved, in the days? weeks? Months? He doesn't really know how long he's been here. Saying he was a bit of a mess would be the understatment of the year.

The restraints, the muzzle, they were all coming off, and he was going home. He then actually notices that it's captain america with him. "I need to get back to Xavier's, they can fix me, they can fix all of us. Please!" He pleads, he kneew the captain was on the other side of this fight. "Please..." He finishes off and breaks out into sobs.

"Yeah, Vic. It's me." He's up in a shot. Bruised and grazed from the shot, but not even close to out. "I'll get you out. Beck to school. Just need to check something first."

His eyes are on his counterpart.

"I need your help, son. We're getting all these people out of here. Right now. You up for that?"

His eyes express regret... but over that, there's a dedication to do what is right before he can allow himself to be sorry for his actions.

He turns back to the injured others in the room.

"We're getting out of here. All of us. Now."

"Damn right...sir." He turns to Anole. "Where do they keep the controls for these?"

"The doctors ususally have some sort of remote or something with them. I don't know where they'll be." Panic started to come up in his voice, they're not going to be able to get him out. This was all in vain, he's going to die here.

Of course it's not logical, but Victor's brain is not conducive to logic at the moment.

Cap shakes his head.

"Not necessary, son."

He wedges his shield between the restraints and begins to pry them open. He strains, prying with the indestructible shield until the restraint at last pops open.

Then he moves to the other... and the other... until everyone is free.

The blinded girl is unconscious. Cap throws her over his shoulder in a fireman's carry. He turns to Patriot.

"Can you help this young man?" He indicates Anole.

Vic fumbles with his hand on the strab of the muzzle and gets it off, and he slowly sits up in the bed.

"I'll just lean on you, I don't need to be carried." Victor says, despite the pain he was feeling.

Anole looks at Cap from his position, he was starting to feel a little self concious because he was probably quite rank. "Northstar is here too, so is Wolverine. They weren't being tested on, they can help."

"No one said you needed it, man. 'Sides, wrong flavor, right?" he kids, because Vic needs to do something other than feel pain. Being annoyed at a weak joke will do just fine.

"Which way are they?"

Cap's already attempting his coms, and is unsurprised when they don't work.

There's help outside, if he can be heard above the fight. There are people here who need to be evacuated ASAP. The better plan might be to get these kids out immediately.

He glances around the room. The dead will be avenged, but he knows he has to leave them here for now.

Vic laughed a little, and he hopped from the bed, grabbing Eli's shoulder and putting his arm around it. Surprisingly enough, he didn't actually loose a lot of blood, it seemed that the Warden's suspiciousons were correct and Victor's body was starting to regenerate his limbs, it was going to take months for it to happen, but it would. Not that Victor had a to worry about that, since he would be healed anyway. Plus, it didn't stop the pain of the fresh wounds either.

He winched a little as he got into position, leaning on Eli. "I don't know, I mean, I know I saw them and all. But I can't... remember which way anyone is."
