The Silver Saucer hovered over San Francisco, invisible, and deposited the crew -- along with the car picked up from Jimmy's house. Jimmy was, of course, shocked to see the current level of traffic, but Ken offered to drive until Jimmy got the hang of it ( Read more... )

"This is where you and the lost SHIELD agents access the underground," Derek explains. They're in a small park, and Khanata is gesturing to a small building housing nothing more than a stairwell heading underground. The gate is shut and padlocked, and an "Out of Service" sign hangs from the gate.

"We left this padlocked, but I don't have a key."

Ken moves up closer to the door.

"Lemme take a look at it. I'm an expert safecracker."

He grabs the lock, and with a quick jerk downwards, snaps the lock off the door. Ken pulls open the door for the others to enter.

Khanata leads the others down the stairs to a large open chamber, empty of everything save cobwebs, dust, and a massive statue of Atlas against the far wall.

He gestures to the wall of the statue. "Here's where we found what was left of the team. On the video, they seem to have gone beyond that wall." He shakes his head. "Our scans showed nothing."

Namora says nothing. There is a feel of death in here with the telltail smell of fingerprint powder tickling her nose and the blood spatters on the wall which are fresher then the dust coating much of the room. the reminder of what the world thought she was and the fact Jimmy was framed and ambushed and she was not there for his defense weighs on her as she scans for anything that might have been missed.

"It's Tops Fountain Coffee Shop" has been on Market Street, near McCoppin, for many years now; the vintage sign outside only seems more appropriate with the guests looking over the menus inside. The wood paneling framing the seating and the macrame hanging from the ceiling seem incongruous next to the tabletop jukeboxes, framed '40's ads and the waitstaff's pink-and-black uniforms.

"Holy cow! We can't afford to eat here!" With prices like that Jimmy had no idea where they could afford to eat.

Ken (still disguised thanks to Bob's mental projections) chuckles as he orders his food.

"Prices went up since '59. Khanata's got the bill."

Bob pours syrup over his eggs, bacon, and pancakes, then pours coffee and cream onto the plate as well.

"Perhaps from here we should decide on our next plan of action."
