Whatever happened to friendly tea parties?

Nothing ever seems to go right for Marrow. She went specifically away from the Manhattan region so she wouldn't have to deal with annoying heroes. Had Bouncer take them all the way to Boston. And as Gene Nation emerges from the Boston sewers to make their pro-mutant statement, what should they find but a massive riot going on already ( Read more... )

Tether is lashing her tail at the rioting masses who come near her, while trying to help Marrow bring order back to the troops.

A couple of the rioters start throwing rocks at Tether, seeing the damage her tail can do at close range.

She howls and leaps forward, her tail shocking with electricity.

The riot's certainly going well.

That is unexpected, a couple of them back off. One who has comepletely lost his marbles tries to grab her tail.

Carver, on the other hand, is relishing the chance to bash some sapiens. Especially those who get in his way.

A couple of tougher thugs decide to try their luck with this one, hoping that their bats will do some damage to the mutant.

He laughs as the bats just stop against his unbreakable skin. Those with some umph in their swing will probably just break the things.

"My turn." Spikes extend from his elbows, and he gets to swinging.

The tugs are not impressed their bats break, and are even more unimpressed when some are clobbered by his elbows. Two of the thugs bring out lead pipes, and decide to see if those would be any better than the bats.

Beautiful Dreamer, however, is actually trying to bring order back into the crowd. Her smoke-caused illusions are settling in, calming as many people down as she can. But it's hard, and she's not all that good at it anyway.

The illusions are mainly affecting those who would not ordinarly give in to violence. Older people, some young children, who are now confused and easy targets for those still rioting.

Marrow may not be one of the good guys, but people who don't deserve to be hurt shouldn't be. So she steps between the rioters and the helpless, ready to try her best.

The fact that she's realized how much more she can get as a hero than a villain helps. For now, anyway.

Her stepping up does protect the defensless, who get aware enough to run away. But now Marrow has a small group of three ritoers looking to dog pile her. the first one leaps...

Not too far away, some unfriendly folks have arrived to capitalize on the chaos. Especially when they got wind of a few things from the underground mutie railroad, as they like to call it, and heard the Morlocks were here.

The Marauders never like to leave a job unfinished.

"Pick your targets. Don't get caught up with the normals. Let's finish the cleaning," Scalphunter barks to his squad as he cocks his own weapons, gazing down at the mess from the rooftop.

Looking for that little bony chick, to get her in his sights.

"Move out."

Blockbuster wastes no time. He just leaps off the building and lands on a few people, breaking their spines.

It's go time.

Arclight's right behind him, although she's always been a bit more nimble.

She only curb-cracks one guy. But she looks better doing it.

From down the street comes the whirling form of Riptide. Cutting a huge swath through the crowds with his whirling bladed projectiles. He was always efficient that way. Even if he's a cackler.

Yes, he's cackling.

Riptide continues to cut a swath through the maddened civilians to make his way to a Morlock. Far too happy to be doing it.

"Riptide, I told you not to get caught up with the normals."

Where is she, where is she... there! He fires off a shot toward that boney chick - or someone in the crowd that looks a lot like her.

"You've got a job to do. Don't make me feed you to Colossus again - I hear he's rejoined this mortal coil, too."

She's lucky. The shot strikes one of the bone horns she's got and snaps it off, but nothing vital.

That doesn't mean it doesn't hurt like hell, which her scream will attest.

A bone knife collection pops from her left arm, and she begins to pluck and hurl towards where the shot came from.

Scalphunter knows better than to be in the same place for too long when sniping. He's quickly two floors down and finding a new window to shoot from. She can't be allowed to pinpoint where he is.
