Elaine really doesn't know if he wants to be disturbed right now, but she is concerned. She chews on the inside of her lip before knocking, very quietly.

If he wants her to leave him alone, she will.

He raises his head and looks at the door a moment before closing the notebook and putting it aside. He gets to his feet and walks to the door, pulling it open just enough to see who is on the other side, but says nothing. His face is rather blank.

"I wanted to see how you were," Elaine says softly. "If you do not wish to speak, you do not have to, but if you would, I would listen."

He tilts his head a bit to the left and pulls the door open a bit more. He motions for her to enter, but still says nothing.
