oh, that was both sweet and beautiful. i've been that little girl before; i remember the year they stopped taking used toys pretty well. i had some of those little vinyl toys, smurfs and care bears and such, and i didn't play with them a lot so i thought they could use another home that could give them the love they deserved, but they had to come back home with me that day because they'd changed the policy on us and we hadn't heard. our boy scout troop still helped with the drive (we were the local sponsors because there were no marines stationed nearby), but it just never felt the same after that.

...and now that i've thoroughly dated myself, i shall slink back into the shadows and try to get some writing done.
