Lunching With The Birds

I had car trouble and had to have it fixed before I left Provincetown for home (a replacement of a very expensive catalytic converter, which I understand uses platinum as the catalytic agent, so the part itself cost $1000! :(   The good news is I got to stay another day with my sister and her spouse!

Wow, amazing birds! I've heard of them but somehow never seen pics before. Remind me of blue-footed boobies a little. Their "pelicaniformes" taxonomy links them to pelicans and cormorants, also good divers. Wow, the exquisite aerodynamics of their diving posture is simply stunning!

Thanks for the additional information! We go back up to Cape Cod for Thanksgiving, and there is an Audubon boat trip out of Wellfleet harbor. Sarah is looking up the details, so maybe we can go out with a knowledgeable guide and see gannets as well as learn about the other cool sea birds! :)

Thanks! They are very cool looking indeed, from seeing them high in the sky to watching them dive bomb! (Glad I am not a fish! ;)
