Sally suggested I might want to take a vacation day off from work today so I could spend a little time with Lizzy before school starts the first week in September, and so I did! :)

Lizzy has wanted to see the Mythic Creatures exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History since it first opened in May, as well as the Hall of Human Origins. I sort ( Read more... )

Oh! That is my favorite museum! I meant to get into the Mythic Creatures exhibit when I was visiting my parents, but I didn't get to. How was it?

It was outstanding, I highly recommend it! They did a great job of showing the myth, how it may have evolved over time and with European contact, and what the basis of it may be in real life!

Very interesting, and I learned about creatures I had not heard about before, as well as seeing the more familiar ones!

The European dragon that greets you at the entrance to the exhibit is just too cool! :)

We spent a couple of days in London earlier this year with a couple of the kids. One day at the British Museum, the other at the Science Museum. It had been years since I'd visited either, and damn my feet ached afterwards.

Museums are rough on the feet!

With that apparently in mind, the Bronx Zoo has installed some feet jiggler machines, so you put in some money and they madly jiggle your feet for a couple of minutes. I find that it does feel good while your feet are jiggling, but as soon as you step off they feel no better off! ;)

That is so incredibly awesome! My family is planning to see the Darwin Exhibit at the Field Museum the day after Thanksgiving. I'm pretty excited about the entire thing!

Museums are so much fun.

That sounds like a most fantastic day, indeed. Figure it's always grand to look at such things. And, you're never too old to become giddy at the prospects of seeing some dinosaurs!

Dinosaurs are eternal, for sure, in terms of ones perceptions of these magnificent creatures! :) And it's also giddy just to see what is going on at the rest of the museum, too! :)
