We recently had a grain moth infestation that was getting out of hand.  They came in with the cockatiel food (we have subsequently purchased a brand that supposedly treats the seeds with nitrogen first to kill all the larvae, we will see!), but despite the new bird seed, scented moth traps, the cats chasing and eating the moths, and all of us ( Read more... )

that's a funny story about spider :)))

I had to throw away everything from my pantry while having similar problem, except for the canned food - grain moth propagated to anything that had any paper or food involved - potato chips, pasta, spicy gravy mix... just name it!!!

Spiders are great, really. There's a rather fat one just outside my door, right up by the porch light. And, he does a fantastic job of keeping all the insects from getting in.

How are your taranchulas, by the way? Bet they would have been more than happy to help out, as well. ::hee::

Spiders are very industrious and interesting animals, indeed! ;) And my tarantulas would love to help out, I missed their weekly feeding this last weekend! (:O
