The cynical part of me says that she knew she would likely be fired and planned to use the publicity to promote her book.

The not so cynical part of me says she knew that it was a possibility, but that she figured since she had such a long and good working record, and considered the people she was working for her friends, that it didn't really sink it could happen to her.

Personally, I don't care if a person is gay or not. What kind of person they are matters much much more than that.

I know the job market is really tight in the Detroit area and I know that it's almost next to impossible to live JUST as a writer. I really hope she can find something else. And I hope it's actually a better job than the one she lost.

As for the Catholic Church doing it? Al-chan goes to Catholic School so I know how they are. I'm not surprised in the least. I'm sure I would get no end of crap if they knew I spent one night a week with my boyfriend.

I find that sad. Especially for a religious school. Not surprised, but sad. Jesus loves everyone.
