Today was Veronica's 21st birthday.

And she was spending it, alone, in her apartment in DC. Her bosses had given her the day off, which she appreciated, but she was definitely missing her friends.

Oh, sure, she could have gone out for her first legal drink with some of her co-workers, but that somehow wasn't the same.

"That's why I love you best," Veronica said.

"So... did you call for any specific reason today?"

"Oh - right!" Angel facepalmed, not that Veronica could see that. "Thanks for reminding me. I nearly forgot."

"Nearly forgot what?" Veronica asked.

"Remember the last time you were here?" Angel asked. "I can't find the bedding we used for you anywhere. Did you put it away?"

Veronica wanted to think Angel was teasing her. But... it was Angel.

"I washed it," she said. Cause the last time she was there, she had... yeah.

"You left it in the basement then?" Angel asked, making a note to check around the machine.

"Probably," Veronica said. "That was a long time ago."

"I'll take a look," Angel said. "Thanks."

"No problem. Did Logan tell you that I talked to him the other day?"

"Talked to you about - " Angel's train of thought was interrupted by the sound of a crash. "Man, I hope that was Sean. Or Logan. I gotta go."
