First out of the gate, so to speak, was the dog. He came scampering out, paws slipping on the smooth floor, to say hello to Veronica.

She grinned and crouched down, petting Sean's head. "You have gotten so big!"

Sean did a happy squirmy dance of Yay! Petting! His tail wagged hard enough to stir up a small breeze.
Over on the staircase was Sean's daddy. Granted he was doing that dark, broody, hiding in the shadows thing.

Veronica laughed at Sean's tail. "Are you home all alone, boy?" she asked, wondering if Angel and Logan had fled like fleeing things to avoid seeing her.
