Logan let himself in and closed the door behind him. "Hey," he said, shoving his hands into his pockets. "How was your Christmas?"

"Not too bad," Veronica said. "I hung out with my dad and Piper mostly."

She put the book aside, not bothering to mark her place. "How about you?"

Logan nodded. "Me too. Well, welcome to the Hyperion. Unfortunately, we've given the housekeeping staff the year off, but I'm sure we can accommodate any requests nonetheless."

She paused. "I'm not sure how long I'll stay, anyway. I know I was supposed to stay through New Years, but... I dunno..."

"I know," Veronica nodded. "And logically, I can understand that to some degree. But emotionally? He's my friend and it's weird. I mean... I separate them in my head and I don't hold Angel responsible for anything that happened."
