The Den of Birthdayness - Friday Evening

It had been a busy day in the apartment, between Piper's baking and Veronica's cooking and both of them trying to keep Bel out of the food.

But they were finally ready to celebrate Phoebe's birthday.

Phoebe came in and smiled as she looked around.

"Wow. It smells really good in here."

"Happy birthday, sweetie," Veronica said, putting down her spatula and going to give Phoebe a hug.

Phoebe hugged her. "Thanks, Veronica." She may have been a little bouncy.

"I'm glad that we're all together today," Veronica said.

"I think it's ready," Piper said, glancing at the cake she had baked. Of course, there were brownies, too. She counted them to make sure none were stolen.

Veronica looked at the spread. "I think we outdid ourselves this time."

"Definitely," Piper agreed. "We're gonna have leftovers for days, I think."

"With Bel living here?" Veronica pointed out, her expression skeptical. "I highly doubt that."

One vamp came a-knocking at the front door.

Veronica opened the door and grinned. "Hey, you," she said. "Come on in."

She stepped back and waited for him to enter so she could give him a hug.

Angel gave a nod of thanks for the invitation and came inside. "Hi."

Unless he side-stepped quickly, he would find a tiny blonde hanging off of his neck, giving him a big hug.

"Glad you could make it."

Bel emerged from the guest room, where he had been banished with threats of getting blown up or tasered. "Now can I eat?" he said plaintively.

"Soon," Piper said simply, arranging brownies on a plate.

"You're mean," Bel pouted. "I'm hungry."

Piper smirked. "You get to eat when everyone else does."
