New Painting: Autumnbrella

This piece has been nagging me for over six years. I even had a four-foot-long-on-birch false start that I ended up wasting weeks on before I gessoed it over. It's now got another idea (that's making me crazy) painted on top of it. The texture of the old piece can be seen under the new image. Ah well ( Read more... )

I sincerely hope you do get prints of this at some point. I can't say enough how much I love this, and how much I would love a copy.

Thank you, Lori! I'll let you know when/if prints happen. I hafta save a LOT of money before I can afford to do a new print run, and I just did one in January.

I agree with the others, when/if you can, prints should be run. It is quite lovely.

I find it interesting, and perhaps this is a trick of the eye, but the summer trees seem to be leaning back away from her while the winter ones arch towards her as if to embrace her. I really like that especially.

Thanks - that was the hope, to share the process with people. It's not like this stuff just leaps from brain to canvas, though I wish it were that easy.
