This piece has been nagging me for over six years. I even had a four-foot-long-on-birch false start that I ended up wasting weeks on before I gessoed it over. ...so here's a cool demon guard I doodled. The thought was that there would eventually be a city beneath him. He was of it, and parasitic to it, and the walls would be between his legs. I dunno if I'll ever do anything else with it.

...a lot of it is a learned skill. You take a marking implement, find an intriguing scene, turn off the television or step away for the net, and set aside an hour or two to draw what's in front of you ( Read more... )

The one time I tried to RPG, I got so bored that instead I ended up doodling everybody's characters, since I could see THOSE a lot better than the story line. Now THAT was fun. And my friends were mightily entertained.

This Lady turned up a couple of weeks ago. I don't know who she is, or why she's here, but she came out of my fingers anyway.

I have at least 10, going back in an unbroken line of graphite & words & thoughts & blood & crayon & ink since I was a single digit spudling. Mebbe I'll dig up those mushy, dog-eared collections - some of the things in them are funny. Mebbe you will agree.
