I was talking to one of my new kids today and here it is:

Me: Heeyyyy.. How are you doing? So what do you like to do at home? Watching tv...? (trails off into expectant silence. Normally this is the time when the kid pipes in with their favourite show..)

New boy: I like to do my homework.

Me: Huh.. (blinks) Right. I mean after you're all done with

Wish I'd been like that when I was a kid. Might have had a bit brighter future, educationally that is. Hope he won't work too hard, though.

I know. I envy him sometimes too. And I do wish I can focus more on my homework as well (well, the time when I still need to do them heh)

But, you know, sometimes these kind of kids do worry me. If they're too focus on work, they might missed out on their childhood. I've seem a few parents who are too focus on their kid's achievement, they forgot sometimes that their son is only three.

But yeah, I kinda wish I had a bit of his will power to study back then too.
