The woman tossed her black blazer over a chair and then slumped into its embrace. She eased off her black stiletto shoes. Pain bloomed across her cramped toes; it ran rampant up the arch of her foot and created a vice around her ankle. She winced and reached down to massage the muscle spasm from her calf. She went into the next room, her nails ( Read more... )

Ha! I was waiting with baited breath to discover what exactly her second skin was! That was both a surprise and a treat! Great descriptions throughout, but right off the bat you got my attention with this - but it pulled at her tides all the same.

I enjoyed watching the slow transformation of the woman as the moon took hold. It was charmingly mundane. And I'm glad to see that she's got such an understanding roommate.

I liked how the description of a potentially "generic" bad day at the office morphed into something REALLY bad... along with the main character.

The nails clicking on the floor made me suspicious, and I went back and re-read, and realized the shoes might not just ache because they were high heels. And everything else from there made a kind of sense, if you were some sort of werewolf. And oh, how embarrassing to have to face those coworkers again. :O

Assuming she can, and wasn't summarily fired in her absence!

This is so wonderfully normal, despite the transformation at the heart of it. You gave just enough detail - the physical signs and going from drinking to lapping for example, to keep me wanting to know what happened next.
Her choosing downward dog pose had me grinning like a fool.

The transition from human to werewolf was a great idea! I loved the idea of a werewolf in high heels, and getting undressed for the transition, where the wolf form is the norm. The descriptions were wonderful! You did a great job imagining this.

Thank you kindly! I really liked the idea of unraveling the slow progression of a disaster which no amount of risk assessment could account for.
