[Today is Catch Up Day. There are more than a few people Katara hasn't heard from in a while, or that she meant to catch up with after first meeting them when they came, and so after morning chores she sits down to make a couple of voice posts. All messages are filtered between 70-80 percent, and the filters are mostly there as a courtesy to keep

Neville was talking about making a greenhouse. I don't know how far he's gotten with that, though.

What's a greenhouse?

It's a building with glass walls, where plants are grown inside. Heat is trapped inside, so it's always arm and plants can be grown even in winter.

...at least, that's what I read. I've never tried to make one.

Wow. That seems like a lot of work to keep plants alive... and all that is so they can come back next year?

[And you will find Alexis near her building, carrying a bag full of groceries -- and one brightly colored blue blanket over her shoulder. She thought it'd match the wings nicely.

No superpowers or souped up perception, though, means that she doesn't notice Katara; she's too busy looking at her bag with a frown.

[That's the cue for a small, startled jump. She turns to look and the offers Katara a smile.]

Hey yourself. [She glances in the bag.] Not unless you can remember whatever it is I forgot.

[Katara laughs.] Sorry, no. What were you shopping for?

[Pretty sure this is the first time someone has actually searched her out over the journals.]

I'm fine. I've been gathering food.

That's a good idea. It's starting to get colder. Did you have winters in your world?

Yes. Game is less plentiful then.

[She nods.] Even where we lived, it was harder to hunt in the winter. Dangerous, too. We'd store up meat in special places under the ground so we'd have enough. Although we'd still go fishing sometimes.
