if this was a cold war, we could keep each other warm.

Guess what, tomorrow A Dance With Dragons is in my life and I die. Wait no-this has a fair chance of being the book in which I won't die, for reasons of lackoLannisters. Which doesn't mean I'm not going to tear through it and relish every bit; it just means I'm less apt to forget to breathe. Which is, I think, a form of objective good.

Guess what, I ( Read more... )

!!!

Traveling sounds excellent! I hope you have a good time. While I haven't been to Vienna, I have heard generally fantastic things?

Yes! I'm so excited, in part because I honestly don't know that much about Vienna-and am okay with that, Paris I've been to and London I know really well, whereas with Vienna, I'm sort of like-Klimt and Sachertorte and espresso with whipped cream? And I think it's going to be lovely (it is gorgeous and like. Half the time while I'm on trips all I want to do is sit and drink coffee and peoplewatch/eavesdrop on conversations I don't understand, anyway).

I am out of my head with jealousy, ugh, instead of jaunting off to Europe I get to go out west where the town is now FLOODED, I am expecting to hear news of a cloud of locusts on the horizon at any second. God help me. But I know you'll have heaps of fun, I will live vicariously through your reports, etc!

Okay, questions! Talk about: Lady Bluebeard, ~Valentino~ the project, headcanon backstory slash meta for the Russian Trio because I just want to meta about them forever okay.

I should post this meme myself.

I have been listening to this song allll daaaay. Also.

Ugh everytime you talk about Lady Bluebeard (which I accidentally and unconsciously started typing 'Barbe-bleue' what even is my brain I am so pretentious) but this makes me so wildly excited. Yes to black widow over Bathory-myth (speaking of historical villains I want to correct everyone about) (ALL OF THEM, ISABEL, I WANT TO DO ALL OF THEM) and oh yes you should talk about this always and/or write it. Kudos to you for coming up with something new to do with this myth; after reading Carter's my brain just shut down and I was like, WELP, GUESS THAT'S DONE WITH. Non! I want to read yours!

And blech you know my Valentino-shaped thoughts! Although I didn't know you were framing it through Lucrezia which of course makes perfect sense and oh chinhanding. I am always here if you want to talk this through. Not that you need me because this is the story the world needs and you are the one who deserves to be the one to write it. (MON ANGE.)

So: OUR KIIIIIIIIIDS.

Backstory thoughts, was having them the other day. We know Yura's-Russo-American, which, for the record, I also love because it's another in a long line of things which guarantee he's fucked out of ever developing a handle on what the world sees as normal. Total opposing cultural norms. Love it so much. Vanya, I think Vanya's an orphan and I think he has to have a military background-special ops, I don't think he was ever in direct line of fire, I think he had more sniper training than anything, but you don't get as quiet and self-contained and shut-down the way he has without militia training in him, or, for that matter, as grateful. He is founded on gratitude, which isn't how he thinks about it, he doesn't even see it as an emotion, but he exists in a constant state of being grateful to be alive. Not a defined form of happiness, but it makes it easy for him to live and think of himself unspokenly as content unless absolutely pushed, grateful to the Party so he does what they ask without questioning or speaking ( ... )

I KNOW I AM SO EXCITED. ADWD LEFT THE FACILITY IN NEVADA AT AROUND 2:15 SO I AM HOPING IT WILL MAKE IT FOR THE MORNING DELIVERIES TOMORROW AND I WILL CRY WITH JOY AND THEN DO THE SAME FOR WHEN I READ WHILE ALSO SOBBING WITH HEARTBREAK.

AND VIENNA, PARIS, AND LONDON! THAT SOUNDS INCREDIBLE AND I HOPE IT IS INCREDIBLE!

I've been to all three cities and oh my, you've made fantastic choices! VIENNA IS SO GORGEOUS, UGH. Vienna, the city in which sat on the floor and spent at least an hour staring at an art nouveau building, waving at people and a cat on the uppermost floor until we managed to get inside. I was so in love with Vienna that Prague wasn't as impressive as I'd been expecting. And the gardens of the Schönbrunn Palace are so lovely! I actually wrote a post about that trip (beware: wall of text, spelling mistakes, too excited to make sense!). I hope you have a greaaaaaaaaat time! And try the coffee with the gelato in it! AND ALL THE HOT DOGS. MMMM, they're so delicious. I felt like the world's biggest hypocrite because one moment I was signing a petition for better living conditions for pigs and the next I was eating a hot dog. Hm, yeah, I have no morals.

And I have read all of your athermal adventures and I'M LOVING IT SO MUCH! You two are such a perfect match! IT'S TERRIFIC. MORE PLEASE. :D

SO JEALOUS OF YOUR TRAVEL PLANS.

Topic: Discuss some of your favourite (or least favourite. Whatever. Just gimme ~feelings) non-Lannisters and non-Sansas.
