I just hate, really hate, that they took away May knowing that Peter was Spider-Man. Seriously, it showed such a lack of respect from Peter for May. Especially since he knew, without a doubt that the worst bit for her, was him lying to her about something that important.

It made him just such a total shit head. And the fact that Slott doesn't get that is one of many reasons why he's so utterly and totally unsuitable to write Amazing Spider-Man.

Yeah, because if she knew, May would've understood what Peter was doing. But all that happened because of OMD and the changes made where finally shown in OMIT.

You can't blame Slott for this, place the blame where it belongs because Joe Q wrote OMIT and decided this course of action.

But see, this one point is something Slott could have easily undone. Quesada or no Quesada. Of course he's been kissing up Quesada's ass so much with his writing. That instead of a heroic underdog, we've had to suffer in dealing with a complete worthless loser in Amazing ever since BND started ( ... )

When Peter was with Dr. Strange to erase the memory of him being Spider-Man, MJ was the only one with him because May obviously was still in the hospital with a GSW. The only reason MJ kept the memories was that Peter pulled her into the bubble he was in so she COULD remember.

After that, they only way someone would remember that Peter was Spider-Man was if he told them. Could he have told May, sure he could but he may have wanted to protect her. As for MJ, he thought that them being together she would be safe.

But the final say goes to the book editor and/or EIC. I don't see change happening anytime soon.

She's so much better in the Ultimate Universe. Really, almost everyone is, in my opinion.

Or, you know...was.

I like Ultimate May a LOT more than 616 May.

Personally, I much rather would have seen them kill 616 Spidey and give him the dignity of a heroic death and being mourned, than the way they destroyed him with OMD.

That way they could have replaced him with some newbie Spidey who could be all the single loser they want without staining the real Spidey with loserdom. And then once the readers got tired of said new Spidey, they could bring back the real one and show why he's better than the replacement.

You can say whatever you want about Bendis, and I'll admit he has his problems, but his Ultimate Spider-Man rocked and was by far the better character since BND started.
