I'm a happy omnivore, but I draw the line at some categories of critter.

1) Toxic.  Cats count as toxic.

2) Endangered species.

3) Close genetic relatives of humans.  See also "toxic," above.

4) Smarter than my army of semi-domesticated backyard squirrels, which is to say, pretty alarmingly smart.

I like the way that squid in particular tastes. But, seriously... octopi have been demostrated to have a frightening intelligence. I feel creeped out about eating something that plays, feels emotion, has consciousness...

I do not like it when "dinner" is smarter than my cat.
