The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon is fabulous! I am re-reading it right now in anticipation of a companion book soon to be released. Actually the companion book was released years ago, but it doesn't do me much good in Spanish, and they were not in a hurry to translate it. It's a layered, gothic-ish story. No description I could give would do it justice.

hehe...I read a couple of pages in a bookstore and actually found it funny! Apparently Charlotte Lucas becomes a zombie but everyone pretends not to notice.
