Let's go Krogering. Or not.

It will still be Disco Kroger to me.

Of course, the Kroger near where I live is called the Crack Kroger.

I love how high-end places planned while the economy was booming are still opening as though everything is the same.

Well, Buckhead is weird. I used to work there--sometimes I would stop at the Disco Kroger on my way home, in fact--and since I don't work there anymore I don't go there very often. Then a couple of weeks ago I had to do something in Buckhead and was amazed at all the new construction. In fact, I guess the fate of the Disco Kroger made me think of the fate of my former store, since we were forced out due to higher rents. (There's a shoe store in that space now, I think.) I know it's not the same, since Kroger is replacing itself with a more upscale version, but it's that sort of area.

I wouldn't want to live there, but I miss working in that area. Like so many other places, though, it's upscale almost to the point of being unlivable. What's weird is Cheshire Bridge Road and parts of Piedmont Road, which are slap up next to all this, are (still) full of strip clubs and porn stores.
