Yay! *goes to read*

BTW, the cut says Part 19, instead of Part 20. :)

This was a very interesting retelling of what was going on in Sam's mind when they rescued him took him back to Bag End. Everything makes as much sense as it does when you're asleep. :)

Well, everyone kept asking, so I figured I'd catch them up on what was going on with poor Sam. It was fun to write, anyway!

Ooh, this was heartbreaking. I love the way you mixed dreams and reality, so we knew *exactly* what was going on, but poor Sam was miles from home.

Can't wait to see what happens when he wakes up!

I have it all planned! First, he's going to notice that his leg has been amputated.... no, wait, that doesn't happen. Wrong fic! *lashes self with a wet noodle*

Thanks for your comments, Aina! This was a really fun entry. Cheers!

Oh how heart wrenching to hear it all over again from poor Sam's delerious POV!

*sniffle* Can we have some more comfort please?

No! No more comfort! ...well, okay! :-D

I do have the next part written. I hope to get it out early tomorrow. It will be chaotic at Bag End for a little while, I think! Cheers.

Oh, poor delirious Sam. Your tumbling together of past and present vividly conveys the confusion of Sam's fevered mind. I still feel as much pity for Sam as I did when he was trapped in the hollow. It's interesting that he thinks his pains are either Halfred kicking him or the Cotton boys playing too rough. It makes me wonder what kind of relationship Sam had with Halfred. As out of it as Sam is, though, he's still aware that Frodo is with him, still comes to Frodo defense even if no one knows what he is saying, and best of all he remembers that Frodo lay beside him to keep him warm. This is a wonderful chapter. Thank you for letting us catch up with Sam's pint of view.

Wow, thanks, Althea_lady! I hope Sam doesn't have trauma from poor Halfred; I figured Halfred just got too rough, being that much bigger than Sam. Sam has never had a serious injury before, so his fevered brain has nothing to liken it to. Poor bunny! But I had to have him remembering Frodo holding him, at least on some level. Sorry to make you wait so long for Sam's POV. It was really fun to write. Cheers.

Oh, wow, Mariole! What a great chapter! This *feels* like a delirium! Poor Sam mixing up what's in his head and what's actually happening outside of him. *Very* effective!

Does this mean poor Sam may be waking up soon??

I finally managed to get a chance to read your wonderful story. I kept meaning to stop at various chapters and leave feedback, but I just ended up reading it all the way through. Wow! When you injure someone, you do quite the job of it! :-) It's amazing how ingenious your Sam is, and what presence of mind he has, even in such a dire circumstance. Ever practical, strong and pragmatic. Hope Unquenchable, indeed!

I'm really enjoying this story! Looking forward to Sam enjoying some Comfort soon!

Thanks for your wonderful comments, Hewene! I did want Sam totally confused; he's really out of it, poor blighter. No word on when he wakes up; you'll just have to see. I'm so glad you found this suspenseful enough to just whip right through it. That's very good news!

Yes, Sam is Hope Unquenchable. *pets him... gently* :)
