My poem, Encantada, loosely based - very loosely based - on some of the legends of the pink dolphins of the Amazon River (Inia geoffrensis), is up at Stone Telling today, along with a powerful poem by Amal El-Mohtar, aka tithenai, Pieces. Lovely poem.

The other day I saw a show on a science channel that showed some carvings depicting the dolphin legend.

I don't know what it is about dolphins, but they do seem to be dragged into folklore everywhere. When I was researching river dolphins I came across about 30 different stories in scientific journals. I probably would have found far more if I'd looked at the folklore ones.
