Years back, one of my grandmothers lived next to two women who kept, among other things, bonsai. And rocks (lots of rocks) and sea shells. I loved the rocks, but the bonsai fascinated me: trees turned into fairy gardens. I want one, I thought

Outside is good for the bonsai. They are trees and need to be in the environment. Once I get my porch cleaned off I am going to get a couple Bonsai. I had them a few years ago, but I was not in my own place and did not have an outside place to display them so they died.

That's what the bonsai expert said -- most bonsai don't like being inside, unless you have a place with a lot of light. We sorta have that in the winter, but not the summer (heat, not light.)

We aren't exactly displaying the bonsai at the moment -- they're just on the side of the house. If they live I'm going to try to pick up a cheap table from a garage sale and put them on that.
