Twenty years ago tonight my daughter was born. Two decades...yesterday, and yet a lifetime.

Six years ago this evening we stood on the deck of a schooner, watching porpoises in our wake as we coasted into harborage. Or was it two lifetimes ago?

Well written, dear! I find the older I get the easier it is to forego "might have beens" and concentrate on what (if anything) I learned from the choices I've made.

I can only act in the present to influence the future, not change or undo the past. So I save my energy for here-and-now and planning for there-and-then.

Oh, congratulations on raising a child past her teen years!
