Yes, this would be ideal.

Discovering a place where no one knows your name is just one of the reasons why traveling is so liberating.

When I visit new places & meet new people, it is almost like a clean slate. You get to be who you are without having to adjust to society. And there's just this feeling of getting to put your best foot forward, ( Read more... )

That sounds nice, except I don't think I'd ever be able to see the world in that kind of light. The unknown is a strange place for me: both full of awe and wonder; and horrible fear and uncertainty. Maybe I'm just terrible at accepting change. Or I just really don't like people and don't really appreciate the finer points to things like that.

I guess I'll never know...

I can have my moments wherein I don't like being around people. That's something I like about going someplace new, b/c I can play lone tourist. lol...

I get what you mean about both awe & uncertainty. I'm thrilled but also terrified of finding myself lost in a foreign country. lol. Mostly b/c of language barriers. The only place I didn't worry about getting lost in was when I went to the US. lol
