So I've chatted with matek about my previous post, and he encouraged me to post more photos of the new place. I think he is particularly interested because he's going to get to stay here for a couple weeks in June (YAY!), and wants to know what he's in for. Well maybe these photos will just be so mind blowing that all of you will also want to come ( Read more... )

Awww,

I KNOW I shouldn't have done this, but I lol'd when I read that the bird actually hit you in the head! I know what it is like to be stalked by birds (happens every time i walk a certain route during my lunch break but they are tiny tinies) but to have physical contact with one... wow.

I am happy to hear you survived this vicious attack, and look forward to seeing more pictures and hearing more stories of your adventures for the summer.

stay coo

Oh man that is great. I think you can now officialy lable the summer a success. A hawk attack on your first day, Troy Hurtubise would be proud. You should sit down and creat a hawk suit for more close quarters hawk research.

Hawk attack shmawk bablack, I was cut to bleed on my head by a crow on my way to work in tourism. Now that's a story. Your place looks superb and I must say is about 1000 times better than mine. Did you ever get that post card?

I will enjoy sitting on my balcony drinking beer from a blue kerosene-smelling plastic bucket, looking into the shuttered windows of my neighbour's house, smelling burned garbage and listening to the sounds of bottles being clanged, traffic buzzing by and a man yelling about fried potatoes whilst laughing with glee thinking of you with your uncivilized porch surroundings.

doesn't matter if it drew blood... well, maybe it does. darn. i wish it had gouged my eyeballs out, then i would have totally won.

I am thoroughly impressed by your quick defensive thinking. If you hadn't have picked up that stick for protection, you might be dead right now. Everyone knows that a hawk claw can peirce and tear open a human skull like it's a overripe nectarine. You deserve some kind of award or certification for your experience.
