Yep,...time to strap on the ol' tinfoil hat and watch the skies for black helicopters. Seriously, this kind of nonsense just doesn't come as a surprise anymore. The clincher is, my wife and I haven't been to Winnipeg for about ten years and we were hoping to go one of these summers, when finances and vehicle conditions would allow. Now, on top of the regular expenses for such a trip (and if you really want to do anything up there, it's not going to be cheap), add $100 each for a passport. Grrrrrrr.....

Oh, well. There's always the Cities. (I just wouldn't plan on going during the Republican national convention...unless protests, potential rioting and heavy law-enforcement presence are your cup of tea. Sigh...)

Peace.

Well, look on the bright side...you probably couldn't afford to go to Canada anyway because of the price of gas...erm.

The Cities is a lot of fun, though. Can't say how it compares to Winnipeg. Even though I've lived most of my life around 200 miles from the border, I've never crossed. I'm sure it's better than Tijuana. :-)
