His phone rings and Kevin picks up.
“I’m sorry.” He hears Tommy say.
“Don’t bother.”
“I never meant to lie.”
“But you did it anyway.”
“I’m going to Seattle and talk to Julia.” There’s hope in Tommy’s voice.
“I honestly don’t care.” Kevin shrugs.
“I want to be there for Elizabeth.”
“Whatever, Tommy.”
“Kev, I need you to believe…” Tommy starts.
“Tommy, I will never believe you again. I’m done.”
“Elizabeth needs me. She needs her father, Kevin.”
“And what does that have to do with you? You’re not her father. I am.” Kevin replies coldly and Tommy hangs up.
