Long time no write! As though baby weren't enough on his own, my hard drive fried on my laptop. Kept holding off posting until I could get it fixed so I could post pictures of my boys, but finally contacted Dell and the verdict is that the drive is totally toast. Unrecoverable. Going to take it in for a second opinion, but not holding my breath. ( Read more... )

>>>James has been so good with Charlie and more understanding than I could ever have hoped for about my having to split my attention between them.

Exactly, I'm surprised too by how forgiving older children can be, although I try not to use 'baby' as why I can't attend to him right now... like 'not now! baby needs changing'

Reclining chair half night? Baby won't sleep in bed?

I try to avoid that too, using Charlie as an excuse not to do things with James.

Charlie sleeps in his bed okay, at least for part of the night, but there usually comes a point where he gets restless. If I have to keep getting up and down with him I don't get enough sleep, and it can be disruptive to James's sleep too, since we all share a room. And sometimes I get up to nurse Charlie, and I'm just too darn tired to get back to bed, so I stay in the chair. It's surprisingly comfy! ;)

I get so absorbed in hearing/reading about mommy experiences these last few months, especially as it pertains to pregnancy, labor, and newborns...I'm getting that urge to have another child and it does not help that I know quite a few people around me that are trying to conceive or are pregnant. Wow, your older son will be three February while my baby girl is going to be 2. I cannot believe nearly another year has transpired already! I keep referring to my daughter as "the baby" to people...like "can I bring the baby?" or "how's the baby doing?" when my mom watches her, and she is so not a baby anymore. I haven't allowed myself to really process her growth yet because I am clinging onto these precious moments. >.I hope all is well with you guys. Halloween was so fun this year as was Dia De Los Muertos. My daughter is so social and was all about saying "Happy 'Ween!" and knocking on every lit house. It was so fun to watch her "talk" nonstop to each person opening the door and trying to cram in as much candy as she could into her tiny ( ... )

It's incredible how quickly it goes by! I'm blown away by that. Especially when individual days (or usually nights) seem to last /forever/. Now that Charlie's here it's sped up even more, I'm blinking and losing weeks at a time. It's awesome though.

Your daughter sounds adorable! James was very not-so-sure about Halloween this year. Last year he was willing to give it a stab, he said Trick-or-Treat and kind of got into knocking on doors, but he's never very talkative. This year he knocked on the door, but when asked to say /anything/ (Trick-or-Treat, Happy Halloween, hi, thank you, etc.) he would just say "NO" and bury his face in my leg. He was a pretty tragic Iron Man. ;) I'm so excited for Christmas this year, though. It's going to be epic.

It's good to hear from you! Glad to know you're still around, if only now and then. :)
