On the difficulties and pitfalls of starting a blog.
In the past I have tried to start an rpg blog. My goal was always hoping that I could get people other than my friends to read it. (I often had enough difficulty getting people I know to read it.) I've tried this on Facebook and here on Livejournal and it has never caught on ( Read more... ) -
Every year I want to do great things
The principle purpose of this year's Origins will be Arcanis. I had also intended to do a bunch of other stuff, you may recall I posted a list and solicited suggestions. I have such great plans. Things are going swimmingly.
Pages are really building up on Obsidian and so are the characters. Five complete characters is enough to start on Monday, so I will. I'm hoping more people get their characters up before then but if not, then they will join in later. Complicated adjudication system
According to my awkward ranking system Forgotten Realms is currently winning. This was despite early indications of a close race between FR and Ravenloft. I'm looking forward to seeing if I get any more replies before the end of the week. A curious thing.
I find it odd that of those who have responded to my letter of interest few have any interest in creating a unique setting. I can understand the appeal of a printed setting, especially the popular ones like Darksun, Ravenloft and Forgotten Realms but when I conceived this project I assumed people would want to do something new and different ( Read more... ) -
