Aww...ohhhhhhhh. I never know how to properly type the bubbly feeling a really nice, romantic & sweet & giddy fic gives me. I loved this, I love how daring Sirius is, that he just needed to check Remus' mum wasn't looking, rather than hiding behind something, or something. I dunno, it was a perfect first of a lot of things, and feels perfectly summery. :DDDDDD

A delicious confection. And of course Sirius can ride a bike straight away. This exchange here was my favorite part:

"Buy your own bike and charm it to fly. I like it to stay on the ground."

"You always did hate to fly."

"If I was meant to fly, I'd have wings."

"I know a spell."

"Don't even think about it," Remus said but he was still smiling.

This is so lovely! Gorgeous in the details but still very real, very honest, and their voices are perfect, especially that wee bit of competitiveness about placing higher in Defense. :)

This wasn't what I expected for Sirius's first bike, but that's what's cool about it-I can totally see how this plants the seeds for what comes later. You allude to the relationship between Remus & Sirius and how the prank on Snape changed it in a really natural way-I especially like how Remus's smile (or lack thereof) and the pattern of their detentions work to develop this. I love Remus's mum in the background, how she seems to be helping them along, and how the conversation about the bike and school is so natural, with Sirius looking for and finding little clues that everything is okay between them again. The kisses have just the right mix of daring and innocence, and the image of Sirius riding the bike around Remus is really lovely and I could picture it so clearly in my mind. The whole story made me smile and is the perfect start to summer, warm and breezy and beautiful.
