For some reason I've been watching Merlin completely out of order...

...which is how come I'd never seen the episode with the poisoned chalice before (well, you know, the first episode involving a poisoned chalice; that sort of thing seems to be a bit of a recurring theme...) but you'd think, having seen most of the rest of the series, that I'd have been somewhat prepared for, you know, the sheer dodginess of Merlin ( Read more... )

Heh, that was the episode I watched on the train down to Redemption. :)

WIN. I'd have been in trouble watching it on a train, though, because I was helpless with laughter for about five minutes, and then of course had to immediately rewind and make sure I hadn't misheard, and then lost another five minutes laughing. :)

Oh, it's a beautiful moment. A beautiful, beautiful moment. I rolled around laughing but very subtly so my mother wouldn't ask what the hell I was giggling about. Oh Merlin. I love Merlin!

It is truly a thing of beauty. :D I was watching it with my Spousal Unit, who fortunately has his own pair of slash goggles, and we both fell about loling our heads off. He was then like, "So I see why you're watching this show." Uh, yeah. :)

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the creators know exactly how subtexty Arthur and Merlin are, and that although they're not going anywhere with it, they're glad we're enjoying it.

Should I watch this show? Not being in the UK and all I have to put effort into consuming my telly.

It has pretty boys being all slashy at each other? That's enough for me, but I'm admittedly pretty shallow. But they are quite pretty and very, very slashy.

OH SHOW, I CAN'T DECIDE IF YOU ARE SLASHY CRACK OR CRACKY SLASH OR WHAT.

UH, BOTH ?

AND MOSTLY WIN. That episode is legendary, I think I really got into the show after I was traumatized (in a good, life affirming way) by this one.

YOU ARE RIGHT, IT IS BOTH.

And also, me watching this show is totally your fault, I've decided. Because you were the main person on my flist posting about it, and then it was randomly on BBC3 a couple weeks ago and I was like, "Oooooh, rosengirl's said this is slashy!" AND IF THERE IS ANYONE THAT KNOWS SLASH, I FIGURED IT WAS YOU. <3
