Thank you! I've always enjoyed that the L/M relationship wasn't immediate, but grew and developed over time.

Simply lovely. This is a really nice way to explore the way their relationship changed in all those subtle ways before the big change of their Force melding. I like the pacing, and there are lots of specifics that jump out at me here in their eloquence and accuracy.

Her pale face and dark shadows that clung to her eyes did not escape his attention but he ignored it, because every pore of her was pleading with him to do so. He talked, and she presented not to listen, every sentence made her grip her cup a bit tighter, made her shoulders tighten a bit further.

Eventually she spoke. “Not the silent type then, Skywalker?”

This makes me laugh. I can just see the scene - Mara very quiet and starting to hunch ever more forward, with Luke chattering away, trying to be considerate. It's all the more amusing that when he stops to think about it, he knows perfectly well that he doesn't really talk that much. :P

He fell in love quite unexpectedly - and Callista was everything he thought he wanted. In many ways, she was just like him, ( ... )

Thank you!

I like this because it acknowledges the importance Callista had. A lot of the old L/M fics would cast her as an undeniable villain, using derogatory phrases like "bodysnatcher". Well, I think Luke should have been with Mara, too, but badmouthing Callista doesn't change anything, and to downplay the importance of that relationship is to ultimately devalue Luke and Mara's own.

I agree (although I probably have been guilty of demonising her in past fic :D) I think Callista was very important in Luke's growth and getting him to the point where he was ready for love and a relationship. He did love her - and she wasn't a horrible person for leaving him - she just saw things the way they were and ultimately, it worked out for the best.

So glad you liked this!
