Last night was also the last Japanese class for the year. It was good. I am learning but I am not reviewing. I really need private lessons with someone who will speak in Nihongo so I can listen and get used to it and to responding. That is what I plan to look for next time ( Read more... )

haha..that's funny! I've had instances of those happening myself, with helpful friends piping in on the sidelines of course. Just curious, what kind of japanese class are you taking? Is it offered by the JET program or affiliated else where? Are you going to take the next level one? Is it hard to maintain the language now that you're back? hehe, so many questions...you don't have to answer them all. Just throwing them out there :)

I'm taking the course through the JCCC- Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. When you go to Japan, CLAIR will be offering you a home-study course.

I will be taking the next level course starting in the middle of Jan. I took Beginner I this time because I never studied Japanese when I was there. But I picked up a lot. However, I realized I still need a base to connect what I knew to what learned.

I it hard to remember the structure. Thats part of the reason I am taking the class.

next question???

next question??? etheriel3 December 3 2004, 15:41:50 UTC
AM I GOING TO GET IN??? lol...that's the big question that came to mind...seriously though, when do they start doing interviews do you know? I'm not a very patient person and I almost wish I'll know NOW so I can get rest of my plans in order. Planning a summer trip is not fun when I don't know where the heck I'm gonna be in July! oh well, getting off track, glad to hear your grad schools apps are done! I totally understand apps frustration as I've gone through quite a few this year myself. What kinda programs are you applying to, if you don't mind me asking?

Happy weekend!

I really don't know if you will get in or not... It really is a crapshoot. Some of the WORSE people end up getting in and I have wondered how the hell they passed the Resume AND the Interview. But in hindsight, it looks like there is no set guidelines for choosing the JETS. So you get some REAL creeps and people who have absolutely NO Social skills OR think that they are just so superior to everyone else. But thats just my observation over the last three years ( ... )
