I'm replying to all my emails now, honest! New comic exercise, pretty much for fun and because it's true. I've always found the pre-flight safety demo strangely soothing, depending on the "performance".
I think you're on to something. The more I do the more I can sense I'm getting over my experimental phase, and the more confident the pieces feel with a home base (like Monster Sex, for example). It's easier to explore new territory when you have a focus and I think I'm getting better at figuring out what that is.
...Though, being the person that I am, I'd like to see how you'd re-interpret it with colour -- not necessarily fill-in-the-lines colouring, but more dance-like shading. Not to make it better, of course; just to make it different.
Absolutely. Jen spaces out the text over "It is almost like a dance," speeds up the rate of moving through the images. Gives it an animated quality. Very, very smart.
That. And "The Safety Dance" is my favorite '80s pop song. In my mind, I hear that while reading. S-A-F-E-T-Y. Safety. Dance.
Very nice. I love the bored look in her eyes the whole through. The line art is super smooth too, it makes her movements look so fluid, as if the whole thing were animated.

Maybe it's because of how it reads from top to bottom, or the way you executed the "next -> movement" panel.
THE END.
