I got to spend 6 weeks in South Africa when I was 16. (My parents are from Zimbabwe, but couldn't send me there because it was/is too dangerous.) I basically bounced around from city to city staying with family friends - Johannesburg, Pietermaritzburg, Grahamstown, Durban, Cape Town. It was absolutely amazing and I would go back again in a heartbeat, except my best friend from SA moved to New Zealand and I've been pretty fixated on going there for about 14 years! :)
