Oh my, has it really been over a year since I last posted here? Probably everyone on my friends list has taken me off of theirs by now. Anyway, if anyone's still around I'd love to hear from you

It does feel good. It's amazing, though, how I didn't even really notice until one day I noticed how I wasn't being bothered so much by it anymore. Keep fingers crossed!
So glad that the OCD isn't bothering you anymore. As to the "why" of it, perhaps the therapy put you on the right road and you just kept going on your own; or perhaps it's just that you are getting older (we all do that, don't we?).
As for me, I'm still chugging along in the LotR and Hobbit fandoms (books first, naturally) and still writing about hobbits.
I need to give you some overdue thanks for the lovely ecards you send me on a regular basis! They always make me smile, so thank you so much for those.
I'm sure the 'why' really isn't important. I do know that my symptoms virtually disappeared while I was attending my latest period of therapy. Maybe because I was actually making more of an effort to engage by actually putting a lot of the tools she was giving me into action. Instead of just waiting for things to change because I was 'talking' about it, I actually started *doing* something about it. I haven't really kept up with things like I should, but perhaps the general mentality behind it has stayed with me on a subconscious level.
Good to hear you're still active in fandom! I've gotten hooked by Sherlock recently, but Tolkien is still my great love.

So nice to hear from you! I've been really bad about keeping in touch on LJ, so it's nice to know folks are still around.
It is encouraging about my OCD! I'm just going to relax and enjoy it, and not try to figure out why so much.
Thanks for checking in!
