As for yourself, work is...?
A. If it disappeared, I wouldn't be myself. If one were to say that it was the meaning of my life, that would about right.

What is your motivation for work?
A. Of course, isn't it the support of various people? People like my staff or the fans. For sure, my own sense of responsibility was born from that among other things. If things like that weren't there, I wouldn't do it. From the start, rather than me wishing on my own to do solo activities this time around, it was more like I began because my back was being pushed from all sides. I am essentially myself and I'm not the type to always be pushing ahead, so it's only when people wish to see me do something that that "Let's do it!" feeling comes.

Where do your solo activities rank for you?
A. It's hard to not think about, as it's a place where I can honestly express myself. Strangely, there's something like a balance so it's okay if I don't think about it. Nevertheless, it doesn't take my utmost effort nor is it my way to be maintaining that balance for KinKi Kids' time (and my solo works). When it comes to the two of use, these things happen naturally.

What kind of existence does music have for you?
A. There are things that influence the current me. For example at the time of a concert, for one piece of music after another we have to change the setting. Within this time I will say things like, "While I am singing this tune, I will become emotional (like that setting)". It's also possible to say that for times when I am listening to music or the times when I am composing music. Because of a piece of music, my feelings change. Therefore, I think that the person I was while I was making "ayakashi~" was an "ero general". (laugh)

In these ten years, how has your way of thinking been changing in regards to expressing yourself within performances?
A. How? Usually, even though I am constantly thinking "Would expressing myself in that way be interesting?", ten years have definitely passed. Therefore, rather than having changed, I think that the feelings of the present me are there on top of those that have passed
I think that the me from that time is here, but on top of what I've experienced, there are the feelings of the current me.
Vocal Advice
For "Ayakashi", generally singing erotically is important. Please reveal your inner ero with all your heart. Since doing this with an orchestra will make it possible for the rhythm to deliver it's punch. For example, for the first word "madoromi" as well as others, I think that you'd want to add accents to "do" "do" "mi". But, in the case of this song, if you don't want to consciously do such a thing, not singing it is fine. I think that is the way that these lyrics come together. However, just because I said those accents, it doesn't mean those are the limits since that would be pretty uninteresting, this has the feeling of an erotic cover (song) (laugh). As for "Awaken Yourself", if you were to sing it with more force, that would be OK.
