+ GORGEOUS! Beautiful coloring. The text is also placed rather nicely. Definitely the strongest of the bunch. + The text complements the image choice well, with a good use of colors that really make the character stand out. = The coloring of this icon is really beautiful, but the text is really, really hard to read. Perhaps making the text a lighter color?
Thank you so much for entering!!!! Ahhhh I'm really sad you're eliminated because I loved seeing your Hana icons every week so much... like when I saw your icon this week and started laughing out loud ^^;; thank you for signing up! And thanks for wishing me good luck in class I'll definitely need it xD+ It's humorous though it is kind of weird that the top of the head is cut off
( ... )
- The top image is much to blurry and the light texture going over it makes it even harder to see. The text is also hard to see. Sharpening the graphic or even choosing another picture altogether for that top image would help. Be careful with light textures, they can sometimes overpower an icon. + The light coloring here is really pretty & the rounded edges give it a nice finished touch. Good use of the crossing line to make the text pop and separate the different image crops. + Great coloring and use of textures, the typography is really good too ♥ = I love the text placement here and the crop. + I love the coloring and use of scanlines. I also like the composition. = (I think the typography is really successful which looks difficult with this icon. Even though there is so much type for so little space it's all visible and very clean. Also the cropping and coloring is quite lovely.) + Beautiful colors here, and the use of the two different images adds a nice touch + (no crit)
- The words are hard to read and the image is hard to discern. = Text is way too small, I had to lean in to read it. + I like the soft colors of this icon, but I think you could have used to crop the character so that you could see her eyes a bit more. The text is also kind of grainy. + I like the use of borders around the icon. It helps the image pop and the colors to stand out. The text is a little hard to read, but that's the only thing that stands out as a mistake! Nice reds! + It's very pretty and has a nice composition. Good cropping and use of resources. = the icon is very nice overall, but I believe that 'waiting for Cupid to strike' would be more grammaticly correct. + (The light texture and floral texture in the background feel really well integrated with this composition. The text looks classy; nice font choice! Also, I like how the crop of the image feels so asymmetrical to match the asymmetry of the background texture.)
= I really liked this one, too. The blending is great and the coloring is cool. The words are sort of hard to read but I spent a long time debating back and forth if I should rate this one best overall. = The merging of two images is gorgeous, but perhaps just a tiny difficult to make out. I love the text placement and the emotion of this icon. - There are some jaggies going on in the characters' hair, and some of the text (particularly "under") is hard to read. - The text feels squished together. The H in "Hathor's" looks like it's trying to be a capital H and the symbol "pi" at the same time, distracting from the rest of the icon. + I really love what you did with the text! - The character/characters in this icon are really hard to make out, and the text is also hard to read. I like the colors in the icon, but it needs something to make it pop, some bright color or something. - The picture crop seems weird and we can't appreciate well the two characters; also, it looks too crowded with such long caption and text placement.
