training 101 - pointy end goes in other person

What: female Leonardo Kaylee's been tasked with getting some basic training so she can defend herself a bit better when shiz goes down and it takes time for assassins to swoop in and help

[ Begrudgingly, Desmond is up before dawn. He knows that if he doesn't get up? Then Ezio will probably come in and start going on in Italian about him being a lazy bastardo. So, with cereal in hand, he heads outside to enjoy the sunrise. He pauses though, seeing a figure down in the ring. Desmond heads outside, seeing Kaylee starting to try and go at a dummy... which isn't working well. But, hey. She's trying. Right?

Desmond sets himself on the stairs, sitting down, and starting to eat. ]

[ She huffs, a loose strand of hair half-heartedly fluttering off her face for a second. This ... is tough. Ezio said try though. Try and they won't be disappointed. Not trying is disappointment. So try. Getting close enough to poke the dummy lightly with the stiletto tip really isn't going to win her any awards though. Or even really hurt anyone out in the city. But all right, she's now introduced herself to Stubby McStubbington. Sort of.

She huffs again, taking a few paces back as she absentmindedly taps the flat of the thin blade against her leg. It's not so much the pointy object that's the problem. She's used knives when tools weren't around. But stabbing someone? That's the issue. ]

[ He takes a few more spoon fulls of his cereal before setting the bowl aside and standing up. Desmond knows what it's like to want to impress people. To show them that you can do something. That you don't suck. He tried as a kid for so long, before just giving up on it. And with Ezio? It was to prove that everything the man went through wasn't in vain.He can be an assassin. He will save the world.

Desmond walks up to the fence and leans against it, crossing his arms over the wood of the ring. ]

Need some pointers, Kay?

AI YA! [ Gorram assassins and their gorram sneaky sneaky walking. She jumps in shock and takes a step back. On the plus side she's now managed to stab something: the ground when the stiletto slipped from her hand. ]

Jian ta de gui. I think I need more'n a few pointers. [ She squats by the stiletto, pulling it out of the ground and inspecting it. No damage. ]

[Clay sometimes suffers from insomnia. He's afraid that if he sleeps too long, he'll wake up and he'll be inside the Animus again. And this will all just be a glitch in the system. So he's been awake for a little over thirty hours, not stopping until he passes the crap out. He's on his way back to the Villa from a long, long walk, and sees Kaylee in the training ring. She looks adorable. Hair up, serious look on her face. Well, serious for Kaylee. He sees the flash of metal in her hand. So she's taking Ezio's orders to heart. He moves over to the edge of the ring, bracing his hands against it as he watches her.

After a long moment, he speaks.] You know, he's not going to attack you first. You gotta be proactive.

[ JUMP. AAA SDMSKDLS. Oh ... oh. It's only Zombie. And she's about to be one if her heart goes boom. She looks to him and back at Stubby before finally gesturing at it. With the hand clutching the stiletto. ]

He ain't attackin' no one unless we get a real big wind blowin' through here. [ And by wind she means gale force, knock the Villa around gust to move the base stick around where it is in the ground, and surrounded by bags to keep it vertical. ]

Sorry. [He chuckles warmly when she jumps. He hops easily over the low wall and heads over to her. He rests an arm on Stubby's "shoulder".] Can you, at least, pretend he's menacing?

[ Show off with that hop. ] Well ... maybe? [ She looks at it ... headtilt ....... nose scrunch .... hmmmmm ...... fail. ]

[Ezio finds himself a nice, comfortable spot on the wall nearby, a book in his hands, and for once he's not in his assassin robes, he's in more comfortable clothes, more modern clothes, though it's only a button down shirt and decent pants, yet he has on his boots as always. Keeping an eye on Kaylee, he doesn't want to intrude just yet. He wants to see if either of the boys have done anything to help her yet.

Then, after he's had enough time to assess her, he'll intervene and train her properly.]

[ This may be one of the worst trainings he has witnessed. Her first time running along rooftops because of his orders went better than her trying to stab a dummy on the first go. Or the second. Or the third. She is clearly in need of all-around help.

But she is at least trying. She picked the short blade she's holding and even an alternative. No giving up yet because then at least she isn't a complete disappointment. ]

[Ezio keeps an eye on her then sighs faintly. The static opponent may be the issue, he's not sure yet, but it'll likely work out better if she has someone to help her. Putting aside his book, he gets to his feet, rolling his sleeves up to his elbow as he does and unfastening the top two buttons to make it easier to move.

Crossing over to her, he climbs over the small wall easily enough and closes the distance, giving her a gentle pat on the arm.] You are just thrashing out at it. Think of it as an actual attacker, someone that will kill you if you don't kill him first. [A beat.] Try to stab me with the short blade.

[And he stands in a prepared stance.]

[ "Someone that will kill you-" ... didn't Mal tell her something once? Though she never really put it to action since she'd either hide or be saved by him or the others. ] Someone tries to kill ya, ya try to kill 'em right back. [ Nod. So, the concept is there but the execution is obviously a mess. ]

... what?! [ She takes a small step back, eyes going wide. ] Ezio!
