[ For a few days now Kaylee has noticed a definite change in the city folk. Where most (because there's always grumps somewhere) would greet her in kind and be helpful now most were turning the opposite. And in the junkyard she even got roughly shoved away and chewed out by another patron when all she was doing was checking out some scrap of sheet metal. It spooked her so badly - the look in his eyes, would he have done worse? punched her even? - she had fled, not stopping until she had found a roof she could claw frantically up to take refuge on for awhile before heading back to Villa Auditore.
That night was spent quietly in her room, once Claudia's room, staring at the floor. Folks were getting more unpleasant. They had been dragged in to fight some battle of some kind to save all the universes. And she couldn't fight. She could make things for it, not use them.
But ... everyone had been given a task at the Order meeting. Even her. She hadn't forgotten what it was.
Train.
The city was big. It made sense to learn to do something to buy herself time to flee. Or to buy the others time to get to her. That encounter just reminded her it was time to stop putting it off.
The next day she makes her way to the weapons room Ezio told her about, walking with a purpose in her cargo pants, sneakers, and tank top. Her hair's even pulled back. She definitely means business. But it crumbles a bit when she gets a good look around the room. There's so many options. And they all look as deadly as the next. Eventually she focuses on the short blades as she was told, but without much more than that ("short blade") to go off of she ends up carrying two carefully with her off to the training ring. One, the stiletto, because the handle is nice, and the other, the sultan's knife, because it's just interesting and oddly pretty.
Placing the two on the edge she hops over into the ring then takes the stiletto and faces her foe - the evil ... straw dummy. Which, the longer she looks at it looks oddly cute. It's got stubby arms.
This isn't going to be easy. ]
