[Dean's sitting on the hood of the Impala, grease and sweat on his grey t-shirt and on his face, and a few other cars in surprisingly good condition can be seen parked up a short distance behind him. He's got a bandana wrapped and tied around his left bicep, and a small trickle of blood can be seen dried on his sweaty, dirty skin but it doesn't ( Read more... )

video;

Up to your elbows in dust and oil, and using your real name makes you feel dirty? [this amuses her endlessly. Not that she cares about the rest of it. In court, everyone is a liar about something.]

But... it certainly seems a skill fixing those... devices? [give her a horse over a car, those things look dangerous. And not in the 'you can train horses to crush a man's skull' sort of way.]

More using it in public. It's kinda not something I use much. It's a business thing. Me and Sam only use the name privately. [He's not too happy about Mandalus forcing him to use his name when it's almost something sacred these days, something only he and Sam know about, given how everyone they know and love is dead and everyone else thinks they died in an explosion years ago.]

It's hard work, but my dad taught me all I know.

I understand that better than anyone I think. Only a few people in England here ever call me Elizabeth, and most of those people are dead. Even fewer would give me shortened names... [She hates how familiarly they treat her.] But here? Here they just... [it irks her, being queen is such a valuable layer of protection.]

Father's a good like that, aren't they? [even if he hadn't intended her to rule, he'd still made sure she was taught everything that would be useful.] Or at least, they can be useful.

People just think they know you because they read about you in some book somewhere, huh? [He gives her a quick smile.] Remind me to tell you the story about the Supernatural books, some day, okay? Just... not right now. Not yet.

[He chuckles a little bit.] Most my skills I learned from my dad or my... Uncle Bobby. Sam learned everything from me. Probably why he's such a smart kid.

[Well that's a new reaction. And Dean will never get past the fact he's talking to a robot.] Hey, there's a lot of money made in bits of metal I can use to repair things.

Can't give it a nicer name? What makes scrap metal any less val-valuable than dat other stuff?

Nothin'! Hell, half of it's more valuable than most the cars folks are driving, 'cause without it, they can't get their vehicles repaired.

You're seriously tempting me to total one of my cars just to prove you wrong. Bet you can't fix a car that's been in a fight with the Hulk. [Not that Bruce would ever Hulk out just so Tony can smash one of his cars, but hey, there's always Thor if that doesn't work.]

Bet I can. I got Baby back in mint condition after she got hit by a semi, and after she got flipped by... a... tornado. [A tornado of demons.] If you really wanna screw up your car just so you can pay me to fix it, then go right ahead.

[He laughs. A tornado of demons sounds like something out of a shitty horror film.] If I find the extra cash, that challenge is totally accepted. How much do you charge?

Chargin' what people can afford, right now. I got set rates on some stuff, and I'm not about to offer handouts unless I'm feeling generous.

... Sounds like a good business.

[ And if he actually had a Ride Chaser available here, it's nice to know where he can take it for tune-ups. ]

S'what my old man did, and I'm good at it, so it's worth doing.

Did your father teach you about it then?

He taught me most of it, then my Uncle Bobby, whose house this is, he taught me everything else. What I didn't get from them, I taught myself.

[Dean gives him a pleasant grin and nods a bit, sipping the beer he has hold of.] Sure thing. We can talk costs when I've seen how bad a shape it's in.

I'll give it the once over, let you know if it's worth keeping first, and then tell you what needs fixing. Just bring it in when you've got it.
