[Tony lets out a long, low whistle at the sight of Shepard's fancy ship, and he grins at the man's offer.] Who wouldn't want a tour? Nice to see my dallying as a surgeon didn't kill you for good.

I'm pretty sure the doctors at the hospital pulled out parts that didn't used to be there. [He laughs a bit. Tony saved his life, this is the least he can do.] Come by, I'll give you the grand tour.

Damn, that means they probably took out the bit that makes you glow in the dark. [Just kidding, you're not going to glow in the dark. At least, not because of Tony.] What, right now?

Pretty sure I know a few people who would get a kick out of that. [Most of his squad, in fact, would find it hilarious if he started to glow in the dark.] Sure, if you're free. If not, then whenever.

I can put it back in, free of charge. [Any chance to get a better look at how Shepard ticks without having to do life-saving surgery at the same time.] No, yeah, I'm free. I'll be there in a bit.

[He sets aside some things he was working on and heads on down to the garage.] They've got parking there, right? Regular parking, not fancy spaceship parking.

I think I'll pass, for now. There's at least one person who'd complain about it keeping them awake. [He shrugs a bit, but gives him a quick smile.] Yeah, there's a parking lot, I think.

[ironfail]

[He raises an eyebrow at that but doesn't comment.] Great, I'll just, ah, wander aboard when I get there?

I'll be waiting near the airlock, so you don't get lost. [Because he has no faith in your abilities to not get lost in his ship, Tony.]

[Haha real funny. He wouldn't get lost, okay, he'd wander off on purpose.

Not too long later, Tony's pulling into the starport parking lot and hopping out of his car, which seems much less impressive next to all the cool spaceships and - oh god Tony gets to go on a real spaceship this was awesome. He locates the Normandy, and after a moment of figuring out where the door is, heads inside.]

[Shepard is sat at one of the diagnostics consoles near the airlock when it opens and he turns to look at who it is. Managing to get up surprisingly quickly, he grabs one of his crutches, because getting around sucks and he supposes he really should use these things.]

Welcome to the Normandy, Mr. Stark. [He glances towards the main area of the deck they're on, the Combat Information Center, then back to Tony.] The AI isn't on board. I'm not sure she survived our suicide run on Earth.

Nice piece of work you've got here. [Tony certainly looks impressed as he looks around, and he shoves his hands in his pockets so he doesn't just start touching everything. Yet. The news about the AI is a little saddening, unfortunately.] Anything I can do to help? I might be able to get her up and running again.

Best ship in the Systems Alliance. Arguably the best in the galaxy, but that's just me boasting. [Shepard notices him putting his hands in his pockets and smirks a bit.] Feel free to look at whatever you want. I doubt there's anything you could do that I wouldn't be able to undo if you make a mistake.

[He heads further into the main area, where the hologram of the ship with all its specs is.] I took a look at her core, but she's just... not there. I think I know why. [Because he killed her, as well as the synthetic race known as geth.]

Boast away - I obviously don't have anything to compare it to. [He takes that as his cue to follow Shepard, pausing every now and then to wander off and start poking at stuff.

When he catches sight of the hologram, he beams and goes over to look at it.] That's... I'm sorry, man. [Because that's like your best friend dying, or at least that's what it would feel like to Tony if JARVIS ever kicked the bucket.]

I bet you could build something with the time, tech, and credits to do it. [Besides, he'd pretty much drool all over any of the Iron Man suits, at this point, and Arc Reactor technology would be massively interesting to him.

He nods a bit, then gives him a quick smile.] Yeah. I think my Flight Lieutenant will have a harder time of it than anyone else. He and EDI were dating. [Yes, dating an AI. It's totally normal in the future, Tony!]

Oh would I love to. The Iron Man armor's not so space-capable yet, last time I was up there it didn't end too well. [They'll have to have a sleepover and play with their toys and swap stories and makes s'mores and shit like that sometime.]

Ouch. I'd hate to be the one to have to break it to him. [Don't even act like that's something Tony would need time to think about. You know if Pepper didn't exist Tony would basically be dating JARVIS.]

Iron Man armour? [Yes, please, tell him all the things about this.] I can give you access to our tech if you want to make your armour space-capable. I'm not sure why anyone would want to get spaced, though. It's not fun dying in space, believe me, I've done it.

[He nods a bit.] Probably going to be someone else who does it for me. I figure if I get sent back, I'll be back under the rubble and in the mess I was when I showed up here. [JARVIS/Tony, Shepard would ship it.]
