002 ✰ Home From Home

[After discharging himself from the hospital and insisting he was fine, Shepard had gotten himself settled into the provided apartment. He hadn't however, spent much time there. Despite being on crutches, or having been told to use them (not that he did that much), he had started exploring the city, now he wasn't in such a poor state. He was still a long way off recovered, but he wasn't a dead man walking, at least. His searching, somehow, had led him to a pathway to a section outside of the city proper.

It led him to the starport.

A familiar feeling came to him, seeing space ships, something normal and natural to him, but the wrenching in his heart from seeing one ship in particular made every bit of pain in him feel like nothing. After heading in, he searched every hall, every room, and found it desolate, like the crew had vanished. Possessions remained in place, everything was there, only the people were missing. Even EDI's core was intact, but she was unresponsive, and no lights shone from the core. After wallowing for only a moment, a sense of arrogant pride came to him instead, and Shepard fired up his phone.

The footage starts with a steady pan from bow to stern of the frigate, showing off the paintwork of the SSV Normandy SR-2 where she rests in the starport comfortably.]

Isn't she a thing of beauty? Just a shame she didn't come with the crew that brings her to life. [Shepard turns the phone to face him and smirks a bit cockily.] Hey, Stark, Kerrigan, you fancy a tour?

[He chuckles a little, and shuts the feed off as he heads inside. As much as Mandalus isn't home, the Normandy is.]
