[ And Kaylee did walk on by. It took about ten seconds before she quite comically stopped, did a 180 in her pretty glittery gold heels, and went- ]

Kate! [ and then she noticed the expression on the trapped gal's face and looked up, putting one and one together. ] Ai ya. Are ya okay?

[Kate lifted her hand when Kaylee noticed her.] Don't come any closer. I'm trapped beneath this damn thing. [She flicked her eyes towards the ceiling, and the mistletoe that hung above her head. She looked back to Kaylee.] You look nice.

[ She starts to take a few steps forward but stops again. O.O ] Trapped? Really? So ya have to ... [ she looks up at the mistletoe ] that ain't fair. [ Oh hey a dress compliment! c: ] Xie-xie. I picked it out myself. Ya look real nice too.

[Kate sighs heavily, much aggrieved.] That's what I'm figuring. And if someone gets too close, they'll be stuck too and I'll have to kiss them. [She shakes her head.] And I don't want to do that, at all.

[She nods at the compliment.] Thanks.

[ She winces. She's not going to say it out loud but that's insanely crappy. Desmond's gone. Kate's stuck under mistletoe. And some undeserving person might have to kiss her just because they go into whatever "range" the plant's set up. ] ... that ain't right. Don't seem so festive if ya force folks like this. Do ya know the range?

I'd say within arm's reach. [Kate shrugs.] I don't want to try and test it out. [She is not a happy camper right now.]

Oh no. We ain't testin' that out. [ She holds her hands up. Noooo testing at all. She's not watching that happen to Kate. ] How long have ya been here?

[Kate sighed, looking to the clock on the wall.] About half an hour.

Half an hour?! [ D: ] Do ya ... need anythin'? I wish I knew how to help ya but this ... this one's real new. There ain't anythin' back home on evil mistletoe. [ Oh no, random guy you stay away. Yes this teeny is glaring at you. No going near trollbro. SHOO B|! ]

I don't think there's anything back home for me, about evil mistletoe. [Kate huffed. She tossed a lock of hair over her shoulder, glaring high heels daggers at the guy starting their way. Once he veers off in the other direction, she returns her focus to Kaylee.] I'd kill for a drink.

A drink? ... [ HMMMMM. She gets on her thinking cap, staring at the area around Kate. People can get through the barrier, but what about just objects? She looks around until she sees a display with sphere ornaments on it. Shhhh don't tell anyone she's doing a bit of vandalism by swiping one. It's for SCIENCE! She keeps her distance from Kate and the no-kissing-ever zone, crouching down carefully to set the ornament on the ground. After checking her aim she lets it roll and watches as it rolls merrily by Kate's feet and beyond until it bops into the nearest wall. YEEEESSSSS! ]

I think we can get ya that drink! I just gotta get somethin' to push it at ya safely.

[Kate crosses her arms beneath her bust as she watches the gears turn in Kaylee's head. Okay, when she steals the ornament and rolls it past Kate, she does chuckle a little.] There should be a broom in the front closet. [She points in the direction of said closet.]

Front closet, got it. What drink do ya want? Ya want some food too?

Champagne, please. And just...little things. The shrimp puffs are good. [Kate is so thankful for Kaylee right now.]

Champagne an' shrimp puffs. [ Which already sound good to her too so she'll be getting a few extra oh yes. ] I'll be back quick as I can!

[ And off she goes, winding through the crowds to get the broom first, which ends up propped against a wall as she raids a table setting two champagne flutes by her (hey she wants some too) and collecting a fair amount of the coveted shrimp puffs. And a few other things because why not. The paper plates make her frown though. They're a bit too on the flimsy side for her to push along a floor with all the goodies piled up. So hopefully no one minds getting some cookies off a paper plate at the table because the nice platter they were on suspiciously goes missing. ]

[Kate watches as Kaylee heads off into the crowd. She huffs softly and slips off her heels, one at a time, brandishing one like a weapon for anyone that gets too close.]
