Where exactly has the summer gone? I was looking at the calendar today, attempting figure out my schedule for the next month and a half and it occurred to me that we're halfway into July. I don't like getting older, it seems like time passes so much faster. I don't even have a tan yet, that's just uncalled for, it's been gorgeous all summer...I may ( Read more... )

Wow! The cottage is looking fantastic! I can see why people would come up and comment. It's going to be beautiful when it's finished, for sure! :)

Thanks. It's still weird to see it, but I can't wait until it's done. The view really is great, probably my favorite part.

You have a beautiful view. Just wonderin' where abouts it is. We have a small cottage near Houghton Lake and it's very peaceful up there. Lately, we haven't been able to get up there as much as we'd like to.

It's in the thumb area, about 30 minutes north of Port Huron. Not too far from home, it's only about a 2 hour drive, an hour and a half if there isn't traffic.

I wish we had a place way up north. We have friends that have a cottage in Grayling but we usually only used that during the winter to go skiing.

But I love going up there, it's so peaceful, I mean the most exciting thing that will happen all year is John Corbett coming to perform at the little coffee shop in the town south of us. He came last year and my mom and her friend went, lol.

I feel like it's a bad episode of Sex and the City, like every which way I try to manuever into getting the price down on the trip it always takes a hit because I'm "a single."

They're saying that it might be done by Labor Day, which would be awesome to go up there one last time for the summer. But we're going to have heat in the place, unlike our last cottage which was basically camping with a roof over your head, so if it's not done by this summer I can at least go up sometime this fall or winter. It's awesome to see it during the winter, the way the shore freezes over, it's like a winter wonderland.
