Spade's going to eventually have to make his peace with Kay, he knows - his own food won't last indefinitely. But in the meantime, he's poking around the library, the kitchen, and sundry places around the mansion to see if he can gather any clues tending toward the plot hole's disappearance and the possibility of it's return

Sam will come across Anita in kitty form, well, you know, big kitty, lying inconspicuously under a cupboard, in one of the hallways of the Mansion.

She's been keeping watch in front of Henry's door - and getting remarkably bored.

"Spade!" Very quietly, from her hide-out.

...... didn't think she'd need to go there.

"I.... really like him." Because we are not using the L word.

He arches his eyebrows. "And the assault?"

"Pissed me off bad enough, but it's my fault, indirectly, I think. If I hadn't been so sick, he could'a asked me. Don't like being a donor, but I would've, for a good cause." Siiiiigh. "He feels like shit about it, too. He's not a bad guy, really."

"So by 'assault,' you mean specifically..."

"Biting. He fed on her - but she was an unwilling vic."

In Anita-jargon, that's called fang-rape. Yeah, not really cool.

"She was kinda broken up over it."

[mancalledspade]

"Yeah, I can imagine." He shakes his head. "Vampires. Jesus."

"Still not used to the concept, huh?"

"I'm petting a dame who turns into a giant cat."

"Yes, darlin', that you are." She purrs. "So anyway. He's a good vamp usually, he messed up, I messed up, and now, well... it's a mess."

"So what do 'good vamps' eat, without the plothole here?"

[tomboy_22]

"You know, that's the first thing I thought about, when it went away." She looks at him, and there's fondness there, a great deal of it.

"He's old - he's able to hold it for a bit - back home they'd get willing vics for that - I don't suppose it's any different here."

He nods, but makes a mental note to keep an ear out and an eye open for unwilling vics too.

"Anyway. That's the deal. And now I got to speak to the girl about it, and I feel awful."

"So...why the fur, then?"

[tomboy_22]

"She doesn't know I can change. I'm buying time to figure out how I'm going to deal with this."
